With accuracy and efficiency in mind, the budget and timeline are of utmost importance in the process to ensure that EA meets the needs of each client. The remodeling process can be overwhelming, but EA Home Design has all the tools and infrastructure to ensure a successful delivery that exceeds expectations. Our team at EA Home Design covers all the necessary skill sets to ensure a professional execution of each client’s remodel. Co-owner Ali comes from a civil engineering background and has used his structural expertise to head the design and sales aspects of the business, while Kevin’s over two decades of hands-on home improvement experience have equipped him to serve as the project manager and flooring specialist. Additionally, we are joined by a team of home improvement, design, and architecture experts that ensure each client is in the best possible hands.

Ali I got into home design because I love building. I have loved building houses since I was young. I also have a master’s degree in civil engineering. When I came to the United States, the closest job to building was home design and home remodeling. I really enjoy the building aspects of this job, and I have become increasingly passionate about design. Overall, designing is my passion. I am constantly learning new design strategies and techniques, studying different elements of design, and staying up to date with the latest trends and designs. And this drive and passion that we have is the reason that we stay in business. The love that we have for changing people’s homes with better design and more functionality is the reason that we are in this business and the reason we excel. We love the business, and we are passionate about helping people and being the best at what we do. Kevin and I were friends and worked together for several years before starting our company. And after years of friendship, we started our company in 2016 when we felt that strong desire to grow and work for ourselves. And this is the reason that we came together. We had been very good friends for a long time, around twelve years. And our friendship brought us to the partnership. Kevin has about 30 years of experience in remodeling. I had experience in remodeling too. I opened my company in 2009, and Kevin joined the company in 2016. When we started the business, we started with zero. We didn’t put any money into this business because lots of people knew Kevin from before, and they asked to work with him. And we got the first job with his connections; we expanded our business based on that first job’s profit. We started advertising as well. We had a small portfolio. I had a portfolio of the design work I had done. Because of our combined experience and connections, we grew faster than a lot of companies. When we started off, we put the door samples in the back of the car, and we went to the customer’s house. We tried to convince the customer to work with us, but we didn’t have a showroom. We met customers in other people’s showroom. However, several cabinet companies trusted me and gave me door samples. They allowed me to sell their products as a dealer because it’s difficult to be a cabinet dealer, but I had a rapport with them because of all

my previous work. We had deep relationships that helped us on our journey. They trusted and helped us along the way. After that, we took all the doors to the customer’s house. We designed from home. We met all the customers in different showrooms to convince them to buy. After that, we started getting more into design. We opened a small showroom in an apartment building. One neighbor told us that the space couldn’t be commercial, but we did what we had to do. After one year of working out of that apartment building, we bought the new showroom, a big showroom, and we designed it. And right now, we are in that showroom, and we have several people who are working with us.

Kevin I got into this business because I have always thought that home should be a place for people to be in peace, relax, recover, and recoup so that they can face the challenges in their lives. At the end of the day, you always come back to your home, and it should be a good place that you can enjoy. I thought about getting into the home remodeling business and seeing what ideas I could up with. It was a challenge for me to make everyone’s home a better space. I started learning about it and then getting into this business. Of course, this is something you should love and have passion and creativity for. Any change that we’re making to a home should make the homeowner happy. I get excited about it too, and I love the results when I look at the beforeand-after pictures. I get excited about it, and I love seeing all the possibilities. You can transform a space into a much better space that makes everybody happy. Running a company has its challenges, but every day we learn something new. This business provides constant opportunity for learning and growth because there are a lot of details; there’s a lot involved. As we work every day, we are constantly learning new things. Ali and I first met at a party at someone else’s house, and we started talking and immediately became good friends. We were good friends for years before we started the business. Eventually, as we were exchanging ideas and thoughts, we saw that with Ali’s experience and my experience, we could team up and make a complete team in the home remodeling business. We could cover all aspects of any project and be much more creative and

unique in this industry than what is common. And that’s why we started this partnership. We work very well together, and we’re both incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do what we do. It is very difficult to start a new business. I think the most difficult part is that you have to prove yourself to clients, to people. And people look at the history of every company, or they look back and see what work you have done, and we had little history under the name of our company. However, we both had a lot of experience. We had been doing this work for a long time. It was just that the name was new. We had the knowledge, we knew what we were doing, and we knew what we had to do. However, it takes a long time to prove yourself, and you must prove yourself with every project. So, we took it one step at a time. You must be patient. And we were patient. We went through a lot of up and downs, but we made it. And it helped that we do what we say we will do and what we promise. We have integrity, and we have passion and determination. We execute, and we always deliver. That’s the most important thing. And we care about our clients, we care about their ideas, we talk, and we communicate. These are all important in the success of our company. It can take years to build a successful company, but we are succeeding and growing, and we are becoming a much more well-known company now that we have the reputation we worked hard for. But if you keep working and keep doing what you must do, it makes you successful.

*** Some previous experiences with home remodeling were overwhelming and disappointing. Having an older home, I wanted to choose a company that was equipped to handle a variety of possible challenges. EA Home Design had completed several large and small projects for people I know, and they were highly recommended. I am so glad I chose them for my kitchen remodel. From design to finish, they made the process as stress free and pleasant as possible. Changes to the scope of work and problems encountered were accommodated and resolved with relative ease—and always with a great deal of attention to the satisfaction of me, the customer.

Their customer service is beyond excellent, and their knowledge and skills are impressive. Thanks to them, I have a beautiful new kitchen, and the surrounding living spaces have some nice improvements. Carol Nicewarner

*** We highly recommend EA Home Design for design and renovation of your home. We had an excellent experience working with Ali, Kevin, and their team. They were professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to work with on our kitchen and laundry room remodel. There were no cost overruns, and they completed the work in just under the estimated four weeks. Ali had some excellent design ideas that created the open concept we wanted. Kevin was outstanding at solving any construction issues like matching the wood on my existing floor when, surprisingly, it was no longer in production. Mr. Kang and his assistant sealed the working area in plastic and were meticulous about keeping the area clean and dust free throughout the job. They are very experienced and professionally gutted the kitchen and then installed new cabinets, moved the appliances in the redesigned kitchen, painted, installed recessed lighting, opened up a wall, removed a wall and closet, installed the old kitchen cabinets in the laundry room and built an ideal shoe and coat hanging area. The showroom had many options, and the electronic design layout of our kitchen was well done and gave us a clear idea of what to expect. The design layout also provided Mr. Kang with a clear plan to follow for our remodel. There was no miscommunication thanks to a well-developed plan. We will use them again in a few months to remodel our upstairs bathrooms. Jennifer Dickerson

How it Works 1. In-Home Consultation We meet our clients for an initial consultation at their house. We discuss the ideas and the nature of the project, and we measure the related areas and take pictures. 1. Design We design the specific areas discussed in our design software and create the new project’s virtual pictures. 1. Schedule Design Review We contact the clients via email and use our online calendar or a phone call to set up a meeting in our design office to review the 3d renderings. 1. Design Review We invite our client to our showroom/office to review their new design pictures, and we explain all the details on a big screen monitor. Also, they select all the material for their project after going over the design pictures. 1. Estimating We cost out the remodeling project based on the selected material and final design now that our clients have a better understanding of all the expenses involved with the project. 1. Meeting at the Client’s House We double check all the measurements and other project details. We also review the updated design with final selections applied. 1. Contract We send the contract electronically to get our client’s signature. Deposit will be collected as mentioned in the contract. 1. Ordering and Scheduling We order all materials based on the final selection and plan. We schedule the job based on our calendar and the ETA of the material. 1. Start the Project We will start the project on the scheduled day. The crew will be briefed

on the details of the work to be done with printed plans and pictures. Customers love our dual focus on functionality and design. What We Are Often Asked What should we take into consideration when we want to remodel or upgrade our kitchen or bathroom? You’re ready to remodel your home, but you’re not sure if the kitchen or bathroom should go first. Both require work, but you can only do one at this time. As a savvy homeowner, you should focus your attention first on the project that will provide the highest return on your investment. Whether you want to sell your house soon or in the not-too-distant future, you want to be sure you’re remodeling wisely. Upgrades to the kitchen and bathroom raise the value of a home by enhancing its functionality and aesthetic appeal. If you plan ahead and hire a professional, many home renovations can be completed swiftly and easily. After reading our book, you will be fully equipped with the knowledge required to carry out your renovation project effectively. Before you start your home renovation project, consider the following factors to assist you in selecting the parts and materials for your design. Think about how you’ll use these spaces in the upcoming months and years. A brand-new bathroom or kitchen should last at least ten years. When you look at your bathroom, consider who uses it and how regularly. If the mornings are busy and you want to use this space for resting, you could want to add a lovely bathtub or an extra sink.

Lifestyle Think about how you’ll use these spaces in the upcoming months and years. A brand-new bathroom or kitchen should last at least ten years. When you look at your bathroom, consider who uses it and how regularly. Additionally, consider making modifications to your kitchen as you work to make it more practical for your way of life. You could require additional space or storage if you intend to welcome large audiences. If a design makes cooking and cleaning easy, you might also appreciate it. On the other hand, if you prefer ordering takeout and hosting a small group of people, pay attention to how your kitchen appears.

Budget Setting a reasonable budget may be made simpler by deciding which improvements to your kitchen or bathroom you wish to undertake. You could wish to alter your electrical system to accommodate additional equipment or remove a wall to make the room larger. These big investments will increase the market value of your house and improve the functionality of your kitchen and bathroom for your lifestyle. Think about the things that are most essential to you as you create your budget. You can save money over time by making an investment in durable stone surfaces or energy-efficient machinery. A designer or remodeling expert can provide you with suggestions on where to spend money and where to save money. To find out the cost, you might also go to shops and showrooms where the desired items are sold.

Color Scheme To assist you in organizing the layout of your materials and fixtures, choose a color scheme with warm tones for your kitchen or bathroom. Instead of using flashy colors, choose neutral hues because they will last longer and give your home a more serene feel. When designing your kitchen or bathroom, think about choosing white, gray, black, or brown. Accent elements like the backsplash, plumbing fixtures, decorative plates, or one-of-a-kind stone ornamentation can also offer a soft pop of color.

Features Consider the design aspects for your kitchen or bathroom that will be both aesthetically pleasing and practical. The following items are frequently found in kitchens: Cabinetry: You store your food, plates, and small appliances in the cabinets. To enhance the appearance of your kitchen, cabinets are available in a variety of hues, shapes, and textures. You frequently have some floor-mounted

cabinets and some wall-mounted cabinets where your counters would be. Additionally, you can choose an open shelf over your sink for fashionable, practical storage. Countertops: To entertain guests and provide space for food preparation include robust, aesthetically beautiful natural stone countertops in your kitchen design. Pick a countertop material that can stand up to usage, humidity, and acids. Sink: You can clean your hands, dishes, and food items in a unique setting at a stone sink. Consider purchasing a low-maintenance stone to reduce the time spent cleaning up after meals. Backsplash: Use granite or marble tiles to make a long-lasting, enticing backsplash. For a backsplash that is simple to clean, choose a high-quality material and finish, as well as styles, patterns, and colors that go well with your overall design. The material used for kitchen flooring should be scratchand stain-resistant. Your flooring should be able to withstand the weight of your new appliances. To improve the room’s appearance, use flooring in a light hue. Appliances: To progressively reduce your utility expenditures, think about making an investment in modern, energy-efficient appliances. If your old stove, oven, and refrigerator are still in good shape, you can keep them. Your chances of matching the design of your new kitchen are increased if you upgrade. Lighting: Install ceiling fans and lighting throughout your kitchen to create a cozy ambiance and improve your vision while cooking. For a distinctive appearance, you may also wish to choose under-cabinet lighting. The following elements are also required for your bathroom renovation: Vanity: Your morning preparations are done at the bathroom vanity. Your bathroom will stand out if you select a sturdy, attractive custom stone vanity. Vanities come in two varieties: freestanding and wall mounted. To save a few inches of space, choose recessed ones. Consider whether a freestanding or wall-mounted toilet is more appealing. Wall-mounted models frequently take

up less room and need less cleaning work. Freestanding ones, on the other hand, feature less complicated plumbing systems. Windows: A frosted window can let light in while keeping the seclusion of your bathroom. Open your window to let in fresh air and let the moisture from your shower escape. Tile flooring is typically preferred by homeowners for bathrooms because it is moisture resistant and simple to maintain. To create the aesthetic for your living area, this material is available in a variety of colors and textures. Decide if you want a shower, a tub, or a mix of both. If your bathroom has enough area, you could even acquire a separate shower and bathtub. Think about investing in durable custom stone shower fixtures that are also visually striking. Lighting: To make it easier for you to get out of bed in the morning or to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, your bathroom must be well lit. For additional lighting, put one or two recessed fixtures above your shower in addition to the lighting above your vanity. You can install a dimmer switch to help you manage the atmosphere in your bathroom.

*** I highly recommend EA Home Design for your remodeling project. I totally renovated my master bathroom, removing walls and changing shower and toilet locations. I couldn’t be happier. Kevin was awesome to work with and really helped me with the design and item selections. The work team was amazing. They covered the floors in my home every day and cleaned up thoroughly at the end of each day. They contrived a plastic dome to keep my bedroom area clean. My bathroom is on the third level, and I was so impressed with how the team carefully carried items in and out each day. They put in long days to make sure the project was completed in a timely manner. They were knowledgeable and efficient. My new bathroom is gorgeous! Fran Keating

*** I wanted to update my kitchen and master bathroom from the builder grade construction that I did not love to a more modern, efficient, and easy to maintain style. Ali and his team at EA Home Design certainly made that happen to my utmost satisfaction! I was impressed from the start with how readily Kevin and Carolina came to visit my property—mid-pandemic—so that they could get an accurate assessment of the situation and help structure the half-formed ideas I had for what should be done about it. In other words, they spent an afternoon listening to my random list of complaints and gave me ideas for how things could be improved before even knowing if I would end up choosing their company. Kevin was most knowledgeable about all the changes that could and could not be made to achieve my vaguely stated desires. Carolina drew up beautiful plans and prevented me from committing some atrocious design choices. They were both very patient with my need to understand and optimize every detail, not to mention my pickiness over functionality and aesthetics. For the remodeling itself, Kevin did a commendable job scheduling everything despite various pandemic and homeowner-related delays. I had to continue living in my house and go to work throughout the months that it took, and everybody was extremely accommodating in working around my schedule. Importantly, EA Home Design works with good contractors, and spares no effort to make sure that quality work is done. They kept me in the loop on everything where my input was required and took care of everything else with minimum effort on my part. They also gave me plenty of time to live with the remodeled spaces and figure out what needs to be fixed or adjusted. Everybody I met was pleasant, tolerant when I nitpicked, and figured out how to make things work the way I wanted. At the end, I could not be happier with my basically new home. The materials and workmanship are excellent; the design is elegant and a pleasure to interact with. I would highly recommend EA Home Design for any remodel! Sakoay

What to Consider Before Remodeling Whether you’re considering a fast DIY bathroom remodel or bringing a swarm of contractors into your house, the following are the most crucial considerations to remember before renovating. 1. Decide on the goals for your makeover. Are you remodeling with the goal of selling it, or are your goals longer term? Decide what you want your renovation to achieve before you look around kitchen stores. While traveling, let the greater picture direct your choices. Premium materials could be a consideration for homeowners who intend to stay in a place for an extended period. 1. Honestly assess your purchasing power. That renovation is expensive is the understatement of the day. Knowing when you’ve taken on too much is crucial, as is whether it is beneficial to chew even more. People are often unable to make decisions because they are unsure of the costs involved. We advise getting a cost estimate from a builder or quantity surveyor prior to making any significant decisions. Look into financing options to keep the renovation as economical as possible. Also consider the stress that a large mortgage may place on a family, especially one with young children. Renovations can put stress on and even ruin relationships if done wrong. 1. Consult with experts. If you’re thinking of modifying your home yourself, contact your local council to learn about any applicable legislation. Before beginning any major improvements, be sure your house can handle the job you have in mind. Expert builders and educated building inspectors can provide guidance on this. A builder you choose must be able to help you through the council process to get building and planning approvals. Remember to search their references or samples of their work. 1. Correct the time.

Delays may be expensive and irksome. It is advantageous to consider timing before making house improvements for this reason. Ideally, the cabinets should be fitted before your brand-new, shining flooring. Or you may install your Caesar stone bench before the new ceiling is put in. “In order to ensure high quality, schedule this ahead of time and wait till they can accommodate you. It’s worth the wait,” Alum asserts. Consider if you should leave while the repair is being done, especially if the bathroom will be inoperable for a time. 1. Try to picture the full area before you start. You want a renovation to look beautiful, especially if you’re spending a lot of money on it. To do it, choose in advance how you want each location to appear. An interior designer or decorator might be useful. They will give you suggestions as you go along as they guide you through the process of figuring out and expressing your style.

*** Kevin, Ali, and their entire team recently finished an amazing kitchen renovation for us. The entire process was very well done, from the initial meeting, design review, and the actual work. They provided us with helpful tips that would help speed the process along as we got closer to our scheduled start date. I believe this had a lot to do with them finishing in less time than they estimated. We are really enjoying our new kitchen and the open floor plan we now have, especially the big windows and views of our nice backyard. We will definitely use them again for another project. Jordan Austin

*** We have had EA Home Design and Kevin work for us several times. They are remarkably responsive and do great work.

So many of our friends have had terrible experiences with other contractors, but EA is awesome. They always let us know when they would be working, and they worked continuously on each task. We will use them again for all our home needs. We have had them do painting, floor replacement, and a complete master bathroom remodel, among other things. Superb and very engaged! John Cox

How to Update Your Bathrooms and Kitchen 1. Consult a professional. Working with a professional to assist with your home repair project can allow you to save time, effort, and money. A construction company divides the work apart and executes your plans. They create a schedule, place the materials order, and take care of the installation for you. You can choose a reliable contractor by reviewing reviews and suggestions from previous clients. You could also seek advice from your loved ones and close friends. Choosing a person with a license and insurance may enable you to verify their expertise and capacity to deliver services in your region. Working with an interior designer can help you decide on the ideal fixtures, arrangements, fashions, and designs for your kitchen and bathroom. Look through internet reviews or get referrals from friends and relatives to choose the best designer for your project. Designers can also display a project gallery of their earlier work on their website. 1. Clean up the area. Once you’ve chosen how you want to build your bathroom or kitchen and after you and your contractor have set a deadline, you may begin the demolition process. Before the contractor carries things out of the space, you should empty your refrigerator and cabinets to protect your possessions. The following issues will then be taken care of by your contractor before installing your new materials and appliances: Unless you are fixing the floors, lay a drop cloth across them. Switch off the electricity, water, and gas. Drain the toilet, then remove it. Get a dumpster ready for the garbage. Take out the insulation and dry. Remove the appliances.

Demolition is the process of removing all your outdated furniture, walls, floors, cabinets, and other fixtures to make room for fresh ones.

1. Upgrade your plumbing. After everything has been taken out of your kitchen or bathroom, the contractor may do the plumbing work. They must certify that the plumbing you currently have conforms to laws. You might wish to have your pipes and plumbing fittings updated if they’ve started to exhibit signs of wear. Bringing your plumbing up to date entails: Contemporary shutoff valves Changing the water pressure Comprise a gas line addressing pipe clogs and leaks In some cases, you could even need to replace your plumbing. A bathroom has a lot of fixtures; therefore, the plumbing might need to be replaced. Your contractor might suggest installing larger pipes in your bathroom, particularly in your shower, to ensure efficient water flow. They could also have to reroute your water supply pipes through an interior wall if you live in an area with very severe winters. To ensure proper operation, your new shower or tub will be installed. 1. Improve electrical connectivity. A licensed electrician will typically be employed by a contractor to help with the installation of your electrical systems, including the wiring for the garbage disposal, additional outlets for the vanity or countertop, and lighting. The wiring for the dishwasher, the new range and oven, and the undercabinet lighting all use dark switches. To create way for brand-new, energy-efficient fixtures and appliances, the electrician might also need to modify the circuit breaker. 1. Glue and decorate drywall. Now that the electrician and contractor have completed their behindthe-scenes work, it may be covered once more with drywall. Your contractor will advise you to replace your insulation if it shows symptoms of wear or damage. To prevent the drywall from weakening or breaking, the air in your kitchen needs to be slightly dry and low in humidity. Before priming

and painting the internal walls the color of your choice, the contractor will install your new drywall. 1. Install the flooring, finally. Your kitchen or bathroom flooring will be installed using the material you choose. Grout is necessary to hold each tile in place. To prevent moisture buildup on laminate, vinyl, and hardwood floors, a subfloor is frequently needed. If installed properly, your flooring will last a very long time and continue to impact your guests. 1. Construct cupboards and counters. A knowledgeable technician will then mount the cabinets on the wall to keep your possessions safe and secure. Before installing your cabinets, your contractor will also check that they are level. A part of the kitchen or bathroom vanity is the sink and faucet. The contractor can hang your bathroom mirror once the vanity and cabinets have been connected to the plumbing lines that are required. The countertops can be placed on top of the cabinetry once the builder has finished. 1. Deliver appliances. Reinstalling your appliances in the space is the last step in a kitchen or bathroom remodel. By preserving all of your outdated equipment or updating it to fit the new layout of this area of your home, you can save time and money on renovating. If the contractor changed your plumbing and electrical systems, you might wish to replace your current appliances. In order to protect the quality of your floors, walls, and appliances, your builder frequently installs the toilet in your bathroom last.

*** We hired EA Home Design for a kitchen/dining room remodel. It involved some reconfiguration of space, replacement of cabinets and countertops and sink, and some minor electrical and plumbing work. Every member of the team, starting with Kevin and Ali, we met with and who came into our home to carry out the project was professional and really

pleasant to work with. We love the design and the materials and really feel like our home has been transformed into a much more usable and beautiful space. I especially appreciated how quickly they worked, and how the crew made sure to clean up at the end of the day and put materials out of our kids’ reach. They were also quick to address minor touch-ups once the project was complete. We would hire them again and recommend them highly. Rachel London

*** Kevin and Ali, along with their team, did a complete kitchen remodel and finished on time (38) days, as promised. Walls, cabinets, lighting, and tile floor all removed for a new open concept design, just as I had imagined. New cabinets, island, quartz, recessed and pendent lighting, as well as paint. They seamlessly integrated the new hardwood flooring and stain into the existing, perfectly! We worked very well together during the design process; they were always considerate, on time, and open to my suggestions. Everyone was polite, professional, and responsive. Renada Dowling

Their professionalism, attention to detail, and schedule accommodations were perfect for our family’s needs and they made sure they weren’t done until we were 100 percent satisfied with everything. I would absolutely use them again for future projects and cannot say enough great things about this team! Allison Wadsworth

*** Ali and Kevin remodeled our kitchen this past summer, and we were absolutely thrilled with the end result but also the entire process. They designed a beautiful, yet very functional, kitchen for us. They truly transformed the space! They provided their expert advice as we chose the materials and aligned to the final design. They stuck to a timetable for the project and hit all the key milestones as promised. Remarkably, they completed the project in five weeks—from tear-down to a fully functioning kitchen. I couldn’t believe how quickly they transformed the space. The workers that they hired were very professional, putting in long days with the highest quality work. They contracted with the same workers, so we had consistency in the project. We had worked with other firms in the past for other remodeling projects and were always left frustrated and underwhelmed; this was not the case with EA Home Design. I highly recommend them to all our friends and neighbors, especially

when they come into our new kitchen and are absolutely wowed by the final product. Thank you, Kevin and Ali! Jessica Wadlow

Tips for Bathroom Remodels First, it is important to establish a list of demands and priorities. You will want to consider what your long-term objective is. Also, when must the remodel be completed? It is also important to consider your budget. And last, what level of work do you desire? Do you want a larger space and a new shower? Or perhaps a fresh coat of paint and a new sink? Prior to beginning your renovation, make these choices. Don’t overlook the small things, such as the light switch covers and the knobs on the new cabinets. Second, you will want to select a color scheme or design theme. It is important to keep your material and color selections constant and go for alternatives that flow well with the rest of the house’s design. Third, source your supplies and licenses. Contact the authors. Consider incorporating additional low-VOC, moisture-resistant, or eco-friendly materials. You will also want to think about making upgrades like setting up a heater, a fan, or radiant heated floors. Prior to starting, try to purchase as much as you can. It is also important to plan the logistics of your project. Determine whether the pipes in the shower or toilet can be used as-is or if you need to have them re-plumbed. To ensure that you can receive all the materials on time, check the delivery schedule. Make time in your calendar or hire a contractor if you’d like to handle the task yourself. You will also want to consider if the repair will entail enough demolition that it will be necessary to seal off other rooms from dust or noise. Next, consider the obstacles. Will it be necessary to replace the subfloor? Can you open the door with the new tub? Can we continue to use the wire as is? Will the inspector be present when the remodel is being done? You will also want to establish a schedule. With a realistic timeframe in mind, compile a list. For instance, you should finish the tile floor and caulk before painting and installing the shower, respectively. And last, be imaginative. For a distinctive look, think about using shiplap walls, board & batten, breadboard, or tiles. It can also be helpful to visit thrift

stores to find interesting lighting and furniture.

*** We first hired Ali and Kevin to update our existing fireplace and to add more lighting to our home. We were so impressed with them we decided to move forward with our kitchen remodel. We could not be more pleased with the finished product. They helped us walk through each step of the process, from design to the final last touches. They were at our home every morning talking to the crew and discussing the agenda for the day. The quality that we received is the best we have seen. When we needed assistance selecting finishes, Ali was always there to provide recommendations. We have three dogs and needed new flooring that would hold up under many little paws. Kevin recommended a fantastic product, and they refinished our stairs and banisters to match. Every expectation we had going into the project was exceeded. We now have our dream kitchen and great memories of construction. Melissa Metzfield

*** I am glad I chose to work with EA Design. They responded immediately to my inquiry, had an estimate within two days, and patiently waited for us to decide. Then Ali and Kevin took us to showrooms to pick tiles, countertops, backsplash, and cabinets. They even took us to one of their customers’ homes to see the quality of the cabinets and the work and to see the countertops in an actual kitchen. The actual job was completed ahead of schedule, and they were very accommodating when I changed my mind regarding the backsplash. There were no extra charges and no additional cost to the original contract. Kevin and Ali always responded immediately to our calls and e-mails, and the people working in our house were very professional, working long hours to finish everything on time. Overall, I am very happy with my new kitchen

and powder room! Daniela Yanakieva

Tips for Kitchen Remodels A kitchen remodel can be as simple as installing new flooring and painting the walls, or it might include a complete overhaul that includes new cabinets, appliances, and other amenities. Whatever route you choose, planning keeps the project on track and within your budget by averting costly or unanticipated setbacks. Consider what annoys you about your present kitchen and how your new space will address these shortcomings as you design your kitchen renovation. Maybe you’re tired of hearing the kids slam the cupboards shut or you need additional storage space next to the oven. Observe the soft-close hinges! First, establish a list of demands and priorities. Consider your long-term objective. Do you want more room, improved design, or only new equipment? Second, think about your timeline. When do you hope to get the job completed? Third, create a budget. What do you want to accomplish—new appliances and more space or merely painted cabinets and a new fridge? Before you begin remodeling, decide. Don’t forget to budget for the small things, such as new drawer dividers and knobs for kitchen cabinets. Next, pick a color scheme or a design aesthetic. Select materials and hues that work well with the rest of the house’s architecture. Get the necessary materials, appliances, and permits. Consider researching alternative, eco-friendly building materials and energy-saving appliances. As much as you can, try to buy, or at the very least, be aware of the specifics (like dimensions) of any appliance you’re installing. Next, make a logistical plan. Check delivery timeframes to ensure that you can receive all the items on time. If you prefer to complete the work yourself, book a contractor or make time in your calendar. You will also want to consider if there will be enough destruction required for the restoration that you’ll need to seal off adjoining rooms from dust or noise. Think about where you will cook and eat while the restoration is taking place. And make sure

you learn about the rules governing building. You will also want to be mindful of potential obstacles. Think about things like: Can you still use the original hood vent pipe? Can you use the same power source for the new oven? Will new gas line routes be needed? Can you still use the wire as it is? Do the new oven or refrigerator doors have enough space to be opened? Can you store equipment and materials in your home or garage until they are installed? Next, create a schedule. Make a list with a reasonable deadline in mind: Wait to order or replace cabinets until you know the dimensions of new appliances. And last, don’t forget to think creatively. Utilize unconventional materials like repurposed flooring, glass cabinet doors, chalkboard paint on the walls, and more to create a unique look!

Conclusion Professional kitchen and bathroom designers may help you with concepts you may not have thought of, offer you access to materials you may not have, and decrease risk you can’t afford. *** Absolutely exceptional! The work that EA Home Design team completed in our home is incredible. Our bathrooms & custom master closet are exactly what we dreamed of, and EA Home Design made it happen! We’re extremely pleased. We were set to sign with another designer before a realtor friend recommended EA Home Design to us. During our consultation, our expectations were met and more. We signed immediately and began quickly getting started. Our home had the original 1970s-style bathrooms that weren’t functional. The master was so incredibly small that I often joked about being able to lean my head onto the wall from the toilet. Different from other companies we sought out, EA Home Design approached every aspect of our complicated project with optimism, enthusiasm, and a luxury custom design. We could live comfortably through the renovations while watching and providing personal touches throughout the progress. The level of detail and precision applied was well worth our investment. Take a look at our photos! We can’t wait to get started on our kitchen! Thank you, EA Home Design, for your vision.
