The last letter of definite and indefinite nouns and adjectives takes a vowel to indicate the grammatical role o f the word in the sentence. Ending vowels are

used in classical Arabic, Qur’anic recitations, religious texts and formal

speeches. Beyond their grammatical role they add beauty and rhythm to texts

recited. In the standard language, ending vowels are usually omitted in speaking and reading aloud. However, they are needed in two cases:
