About the book In my 27 years’ experience in Holistic Healing , I have healed patients who have been suffering with problems ranging from days to decades through a combination of Reiki Acupuncture, Acupressure and Magnetotherapy. My 35 year background in Anatomy has helped me understand people’s physical problems, the allopathic diagnosis and treatment they have taken, understand the root cause of their problems and symptoms. Asthma Organs involved Nose, throat (Larynx, Pharynx, Trachea), Bronchi, Lungs (alveoli) While breathing, air enters nose, passes through larynx, pharynx and trachea and bronchi to reach the lungs. When air passage gets inflamed due to pollutants, the air passage becomes inflamed and narrow. Alveoli of lungs do not get optimum quantity of oxygen. When lungs do not get optimum level of oxygen, symptoms appear as breathlessness.

Diagnosis With a probe, I identified painful points of correspondence point of nose, throat, bronchi and lungs. Application of probe in dryness point of lung meridian revealed slight relief from breathlessness, indicating lung dryness is excessive and need sedation of dryness.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied pressure on the correspondence point of nose (in thumb), throat (in the lower part of the thumb) and bronchi- just below the base of the thumb. To stimulate lungs, applied pressure on the correspondence point of the lungs in palm. A Sujok needle was applied in the dryness point of lung meridian and sedated the dryness of lungs. (Refer Picture 1)

Through Reiki The air passage is controlled by Ajna Chakra, Vishudhi and Anahatha chakra. Healing these three chakras resulted in fast recovery.

Result Combination of Sujok and Reiki results in fast recovery. Even chronic cases respond in 2-3 sessions since both these healing systems reach the root cause of the disease which is accumulation of negative energy. Once the cause is removed, energy flows without interruption. Note – For enhancing flow of energy (air) deep breathing exercise is very

useful .

Coccydynia (Coccyx/Tail bone pain) A young man aged 30 approached me with a complaint of coccyx/tail bone pain.

Symptoms For nearly two years, he had severe pain at the tip of the back bone. He could not sit on a chair nor could he drive. He was advised to use a ring on his seat to avoid direct contact with the seat.

Diagnosis I applied Sujok probe on the primary correspondence points between the web connecting the middle and ring fingers and the two knuckles at the root of these fingers. While applying the probe on the painful points, he had dramatic relief from pain.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the primary correspondence points of coccyx. In addition I applied one needle to sedate the coldness point in kidney meridian (for bone) – (Refer Picture 2)

Through Reiki Tail bone is related to Mooladhara chakra, but the impact would be on the lumbo-sacral bones. Healing was done for the Mooladhara chakra, BackSwadhishtana chakra and back-Manipura chakra

Result The combination of Reiki and Sujok Acupuncture resulted in recovery in two sessions. He got rid of the ring he was sitting on. To prevent recurrence, as a precaution, he was given acupressure points on the web connecting middle and ring finger and instructed to continue for one more week.

Cervical Spondylitis A middle aged man approached me with a complaint of cervical spondylitis. Symptoms as narrated by the patient - Ten years back, he developed pain in the external ear. ENT specialist, with the intention of cleaning the affected ear, douched some medicines in to the external ear canal. The patient felt extreme pain and immediately the treatment was stopped. But from that day onwards, he developed stiffness in the neck. He was unable to turn his head to the left side since it was very painful.

Diagnosis Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure With the probe, I tried to identify the painful correspondence point of the neck and left middle ear, on the back of the thumb. As I was searching for the correspondence point, when the probe touched the painful point, the patient was able to turn his head and neck to the left side which he could not do for nearly 10 years.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Sujok needles were applied on the primary correspondence point of middle ear and neck on the back of the thumb. (Refer Picture 3)

Through Reiki This was a chronic case. So I cleansed all the back chakras, energised all back chakras starting with Mooladhara to front Ajna chakra while concentrating on the Back-Vishudha and back-Ajna chakra. Neck is one region with the cervical bones, spinal cord, cervical nerves, the muscles, blood vessels. All these structures are controlled by the Vishudha chakra. Next day, he came back and said he was able to move his neck easily on both sides without any pain. To avoid recurrence, I healed Vishudha chakra, Back-Ajna chakra and repeated Acupuncture treatment. In two sessions, he had total recovery.

Testimonial from Patients Arundhathy, Reiki Master I was suffering from neck pain (Cervical Spondylitis), back pain and frozen shoulder. I was having numbness in my fingers in the morning. I tried allopathic and Ayurvedic treatments without much successes. I contacted Dr.P.S.Lalitha for treatment. She gave me Sujok treatment and found two pain points in my finger. My journey with Reiki will continue Rheumatoid Arthritis & Cervical Spondylitis Mr, Raguram, Chennai I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis and I was given steroids for the treatment. This help subdue the pain but recurred immediately after the medication stopped. Similarly when diagnosed with Cervical Spondylitis, the

treatment was traction, muscle relaxants and physiotherapy. The problem was subdued but came back again with return to more traction and physiotherapy. I learnt the process of treating the ailment through energy. I was intrigued and continued to learn from Dr.P.S.Lalitha, not just Reiki but also Sujok Acupressure. Since learning Reiki and Sujok, I have not turned to medication. The practice of self-healing in Reiki and use of acupressure has ensured that I have not experienced the symptoms of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Cervical Spondylitis . Shortly after learning Reiki, a close member of my family was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. Using Reiki, I was able to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy, the post-surgery recovery and radiation. Uma Krishnan, Chennai Rheumatoid arthritis My name is Uma Krishnan. I have been suffering rheumatoid arthritis for for the last 25 years and have been taking medication for the same with no significant improvement. I also had acidity from taking all the medication. Sinusitis Sinusitis is a common ailment affecting all age groups. 10 year old child with headache was brought to me with chronic headache.

Symptoms Nasal block, swelling below the eyes (submaxillary sinusitis) and severe headache, frontal sinusitis and sneezing early morning.

Diagnosis By applying probe on primary correspondence points on the thumb, representing nose, submaxillary sinuses and frontal sinuses were identified as the painful points. Headache was due to sinusitis and the cause was chronic allergic rhinitis and the inflammation had extended to sinuses from the nose.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure To treat the root cause (rhinitis), acupuncture needle was applied to the correspondence point of the nose. To treat the symptoms (sinusitis), needles were applied on submaxillary and frontal sinuses in the thumb. In addition to raise immunity, needles were applied on spleen correspondence points to raise immunity. (Refer Picture 4)

Through Reiki Ajna Chakra has control over all sensory organs, nose being one of them. So Ajna chakra, was cleansed and energised. In addition, local areas, fore head, frontal sinuses below the eyes (submaxillary sinuses) were energised. Result – Since the energy has reached the root cause in both Sujok and Reiki, recovery was fast in just three sessions. Patient was advised to continue acupressure on the thumb to avoid recurrence.

Insomnia Insomnia is sleeplessness. This can be due to several causes. I am narrating one of the cases which disturbed me a lot.

Case History A 54 year old man who was suffering from insomnia for nearly two years came to me. A detailed discussion with him about his problem and the cause of sudden manifestation with high BP, revealed the root cause of his problem. His son aged 16 used to have frequent bout of Asthma. On the day of his public exam, it got aggravated. So the father, using the grace time for entering exam hall, decided to take the son to the hospital and then take him to the exam hall. But on the way to hospital, the boy died. This sudden loss started haunting him day and night. This led to insomnia and rise in blood pressure. No medicine could help him.

Diagnosis Probing primary correspondence point of thumb, I narrowed down to three painful points-Two BP points and one for insomnia. Primary correspondence point of adrenal gland, mid-point of wrist was painful. The emotional shock had resulted in high BP and insomnia.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the primary correspondence points on tip of the thumb (for BP and insomnia), One needle on Adrenal gland point; one needle on the midpoint on the junction of wrist and palm (to relieve anxiety) . To relieve fear and to calm his disturbed mind, I sedated coldness point in kidney meridian. (Refer Picture 5)

Through Reiki Reiki energy reaches physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. In this case, the patient had a sudden shock and was mentally disturbed. Because of this, all major chakras were thrown off balance. Healing was aimed at cleansing his chakras and then healing all the chakras. On the first day, all

chakras were cleansed and healed. The patient felt a bit relaxed. I continued treatment for a week. Gradually, he started relaxing and started sleeping. His BP also reached normal levels. After the healing session, his mental agony was greatly relieved with a combination of Reiki, Sujok and counselling. I advised him to do meditation to calm his mind and body.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Carpal tunnel syndrome is a symptom manifested at the wrist joint. Symptom is pain in the wrist joint while flexing and extending the wrists. The pain extends, most often, to the palm and fingers. It is mostly seen in persons handling the computer mouse for a long time and occasionally it is seen in housewives also. A 32 year old man came with a complaint of excruciating pain in the wrist. He could not move his wrist. He did not have any symptom of neck pain.

Diagnosis Usually any problem of hand is due to spinal cord and cervical spinal nerves arising from brachial plexus, supplying the entire hand. The cause is in the neck, though the patient did not feel any neck involvement. He felt the symptom only in the wrist. I probed the correspondence point in cervical region in the back of the thumb and wrist in the distal joint in the index finger.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Applied acupuncture needle in the primary correspondence painful point in the distal Joint of index finger (wrist) , another two needles in the back of the thumb (cervical spondylitis) , one more needle on the middle of the wrist (yang side) to restore nerve supply to palm and fingers, by releasing pressure on the median nerve. (Refer Picture 6)

Through Reiki Every part of hand and neck is controlled by back-vishudha chakra. Muscle, tendon, bones, peripheral nerves are under the control of Mooladhara Chakra. Based on this, I channelized the healing energy to Mooladhara chakra, backVishudha and local area. His wrist movement became normal and didn’t have any pain. I gave acupressure points in the palm to patient for selfhealing. Result – Chronic pain was relieved by combination of Sujok and Reiki. This is due to the energy reaching the root cause of disease. In three sessions, he

had total recovery. He was advised to apply acupressure on the correspondence points for one week to avoid recurrence.

Sciatica Sciatica is a most common prevalent disease irrespective of gender. Sciatic nerve is a thick band of nerve located in the deeper part of gluteal region. Invariably Sciatica affects people who sit for a long time (pressure on the nerve), with chronic back pain, and disc prolapse or after epidural anesthesia.

Case history A 40 year old man, with a complaint of sciatica sought my help. He was running a shop with heavy shutters. Because of pulling shutters up and down every day, he developed back pain. The pain extended to his right leg. Doctor diagnosed it as sciatica. For back pain, he was advised surgery. He approached me saying he didn’t want to undergo surgery. When he came, he was not able to sit for more than 10 minutes and he had excruciating pain in the right leg.

Diagnosis Sujok Application of probe on primary correspondence point of lumbo sacral region between third and fourth metacarpal bones on the yang side of the palm and sciatica points (on the lateral aspect of knuckle of right middle finger) revealed painful points.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok acupuncture needle on primary correspondence painful points of lumbosacral region and one needle for sciatic nerve. To establish communication between spinal cord and brain, I applied a needle on the back of the thumb just below the base of the nail. For male – energy pathway is anti-clockwise. In this case, right leg revealed symptoms and it represents coldness. One needle for sedating coldness point was applied in Kidney meridian. I also applied seeds on the corresponding points of lumbosacral region on the palm. I advised the patient to apply gentle pressure to release dormant cosmic energy from the seeds. (Seed therapy) For Back Pain – After treating the patient, I give acupressure points for self treatment Insect correspondence : For back – Middle finger from the

knuckle to the mid-joint or apply pressure on the middle finger from the knuckle to the mid-joint or apply seeds for 10 minutes thrice a day. For Sciatica self treatment – Patient to hold the entire middle finger tightly for 10 minutes thrice a day (Left finger if the pain is in the left leg and right finger for right). In addition, insect correspondence for the back as given under back pain.

Through Reiki Healing mooladhara, back-Swadhishtana and back-manipura chakras relieved back pain by releasing pressure on nerves. In addition energizing back-ajna and front-ajna chakras brought fast and significant recovery. These three chakras, Mooladhara, Back-Swadhishtana and back-manipura control the back and legs. In addition, I also energized the affected right leg, where the symptom was felt.

Summary Sciatica is only a symptom; but the cause is in the lumbosacral region. In both Sujok and Reiki, healing energy reaches the root cause and once the cause is eliminated, the symptoms vanish automatically. Patient felt relief within a week since both the cause (back pain) and the symptom (sciatica) vanished.

Chronic cough /GERD A 21 year old girl came with a complaint of persisting cough from the age of four. Specialists could neither diagnose nor prescribe any medicine to give her relief. While eliciting her medical history from her, I found out that she used to love ice cream. She felt aggravation of the symptom of cough the next day. It indicated her stomach was allergic to these cold items. This resulted in symptom as cough, limited to pharynx. Patient did not feel the symptoms of gastritis.

Diagnosis Primary correspondence points of stomach, esophagus and pharynx revealed painful points leading me to conclude gastritis as the cause leading to esophagitis, pharyngitis. Pharyngitis was the cause of the cough. Organs involved are stomach, esophagus and pharynx

Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure The gastritis had extended to esophagus, pharynx. The symptom was confined to only pharynx (Pharyngitis) resulting in dry cough. This is called Gastro esophageal reflux disorder (GERD).

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the primary correspondence points of stomach, oesophagus and pharynx. In addition, gastritis was treated with application of one needle sedating fire element in stomach meridian. Applying needle in stomach meridian is to reach the root cause of the problem, gastritis. Testimonial from patients Chronic dry cough due to gastritis Vidya, Chennai Until I met Dr.P.S. Lalitha, I have only heard of miracles happening in mythological stories and in movies. Frozen Shoulder In frozen shoulder, the shoulder joint becomes stiff due to the inflammation of the capsule of the shoulder joint. This results in pain while moving the joint. In chronic condition, inflammation results in thickening of capsule, binding the joint, loss of lubricating fluid called synovial fluid. This leads to restricting movement of the joint with excruciating pain. Most often the pain extends to the arm. For the shoulder, arm and the entire hand, nerve supply is from cervical nerves (Brachial plexus). Most of the patients do not complain of neck pain.

Case history One middle aged lady came to me with a typical symptom of frozen shoulder. She was suffering from persisting pain for more than one year and stiffness and pain extended to the arm. Her left shoulder movement was restricted.

Diagnosis I applied probe on the correspondence points of the neck (on the back of the thumb) and shoulder joint (knuckle in the left index finger). While probing, painful points were identified in the thumb and left index finger. Though she did not feel neck pain, probing revealed involvement of cervical region (thumb), the root cause of the disease.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle on the painful correspondence points on the back of the thumb, left index finger knuckle and a little below (for the arm). I continued the treatment twice a week for three weeks. Gradually the stiffness of shoulder joint reduced. Neck started relaxing. She could move her shoulder easily. Occasionally pain involves the entire hand. Patient is advised to hold the entire index finger tightly thrice a day for 10 minutes per day. Through Reiki

Neck and shoulder are under the control of Vishudhi chakra. The entire back, hands and legs are under the control of Mooladhara chakra. On the first 2 days, I cleansed all the chakras and energized all the back chakras from Mooladhara to back- Ajna chakra. From the 3rd day, I energized Mooladhara chakra, back –Vishudha, Back-Ajna and the entire shoulder. Healing continued for three weeks.

Result The combination of Sujok and Reiki resulted in relaxation of neck and shoulder joint. Patient was able to move her shoulder freely. In another case a veterinary student of mine learnt Sujok Acupressure. On the same day, at the end of his class, he complained of frozen shoulder. I requested him to apply pressure on the correspondence point as instructed in the class. I healed his Vishudhi chakra. There was instant remarkable recovery within 10-15 minutes.

Urethral Stricture Urethral stricture is a condition where urethra becomes narrow due to infection or some times while applying catheter, urethra gets injured resulting in inflammation. Both urinary bladder and Urethra get affected.

Case history A 65 year old lady came with a complaint of difficulty in evacuating the content of urinary bladder. She sought the help of an urologist. The Doctor, after examining advised her to use a catheter to evacuate the bladder. She felt uncomfortable and she came to me at this juncture. I asked her how this happened suddenly after 60 years. She was a headmistress of a school in Coimbatore and was leading an independent life. After retirement, she joined her family in Chennai and was living with her husband in Chennai. Her husband created fear in her mind stating that Chennai is not a safe place to go alone anywhere. So her forced dependence on her husband to go out made her suppress her fear/anger. This emotional disturbance (suppression of emotion – loss of independence) is psychological. The suppression of mind resulted in urethral stricture suppressing the feeling of micturition. Diagnosis Sujok probe was applied on the tip of the thumb- correspondence point of the head, bladder and urethra correspondence point in the palm just above the web connecting middle and ring finger-. Both points revealed pain.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Applied Sujok needles on primary correspondence painful point in her thumb( to relax her mind). On the primary correspondence point of urinary bladder and urethra – in her palm; One needle on swadhishtana chakra in the lower part of the palm. Result – In three sessions, she got rid of the catheter. Her bladder resumed to its normal function. Due to recovery from urethral stricture, she could urinate without using catheter. Polio (Poliomyelitis) Poliomyelitis is a viral disease. Polio vaccine is given with the object of preventing polio infection.

Case history A 28 year old lady came to me with typical symptoms of polio. Her left leg was shorter than the right. Left leg muscles were weaker and atrophied. Despite polio vaccine which she had been given, she developed polio. Since she had to bear the entire weight of the body through the right leg, she developed back pain. Diagnosis Sujok I tested primary correspondence points of the vertebral column, spinal cord, sciatic nerve point and brain.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the painful points of primary correspondence for lumbar, sciatic nerve and brain. In addition, I sedated liver coldness, spinal cord coldness and kidney coldness points on the meridian respectively. In the third session (week), she felt slight sensation in the left leg. I continued the treatment once a week further to bring about total recovery. Since the patient was very cooperative, I continued the treatment. During this period, my instinct told me to connect spinal cord with the brain. In human brain, areas are demarcated. In Sujok, tip of the thumb represents the entire brain. No demarcation is made. In this case, her left leg is involved. So I tested the right side of the brain in the thumb and identified the painful point in the right side of thumb representing affected area in the brain (motor area) and applied Sujok needle at this point. Through Reiki Simultaneously, I did Reiki healing. Mooladhara chakra – to raise energy by activating Kundalini Shakti (energy). Back Manipura to front Ajna Chakra – To activate the dead motor neurons in the anterior horn of the spinal cord. Ajna & Sahasrara chakra – To activate the motor neurons in the brain. By channelizing the energy through these chakras, the root cause is reached. Once the energy reaches the root cause, the symptoms in the leg, i.e. the atrophied muscles get activated. Mooladhara, Back-Swadhishtana and Back-Manipura Chakras were energized. Healing was done from Mooladhara to front Ajna Chakra. Sensory and motor impulses reached brain and periphery respectively. This resulted in total recovery. In eight months, polio was successfully treated which was so far thought as an incurable disease. I continued treatment for lumbosacral and sciatica point once a week for eight months. There was gradual progress. Finally the left leg became absolutely normal. She could walk without limp regaining equilibrium. Both sensory and motor stimuli were in balance with total recovery. Efficacy of combining Reiki and Sujok to reach the root cause of Polio Root cause: Initially polio virus caused the death of motor neurons in the anterior horn of spinal cord in lumbar region. This resulted in the signals from motor area of the brain not reaching the dead motor neurons in the

spinal cord. Once the motor neurons in the spinal cord are dead, the muscles supplied by neurons degenerate and undergo atrophy. Based on this Sujok and Reiki healing is done.

Multiple operations and complications A 45 year old lady came with a complaint of persisting pain around the naval for the past three months.

History Two years earlier, she developed abdominal pain on the right side. Suspecting appendicitis, emergency appendectomy was conducted. Despite surgery, she had persisting pain. She was advised to consult gynecologist. After several tests, gynecologist suspected fibroid in the uterus and the patient underwent hysterectomy. She had no relief from abdominal pain. She consulted gastroenterologist who suspected gall stones. So gall bladder was removed. After the operation, her abdominal pain got aggravated. She was not able to take food, which increased her pain. Gastroenterologist advised her to take only liquid diet but there was no relief. She was advised another surgery. She felt persisting pain around her navel. At this stage, the patient approached me. Since the pain was around the navel, I used probe in the correspondence point of small intestine, suspecting complication after gall bladder ablation. I thought it could be due to adhesion between the peritoneum and mesentry preventing movement of small intestine.

Diagnosis When I applied probe at the correspondence point of duodenum (small intestine) in the palm, for the first time after several weeks, she felt mild relief. I tested gall bladder point. These two painful points indicated that it should be post-operative complication resulting in adhesion between peritoneum and mesentry.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the painful correspondence point of duodenum in the middle of the palm and another needle in the middle of correspondence point of liver (corresponding to peritoneum). Another needle to sedate liver coldness point. To prevent anxiety, I put one needle at the sphincter point in the mid-point of the wrist. (Refer Picture 12)

Through Reiki Since it was a chronic condition, Aura and all chakras were cleansed. The major chakras that were malfunctioning due to adhesion were Manipura chakra and Ajna chakra. (former controlling abdominal organs and latter , all chakras). The combination of Sujok acupuncture and Reiki was continued for a week.

Result On the first day itself, persisting pain considerably reduced. Continuous healing for a week relieved the pain totally. To avoid recurrence, I continued the healing for three weeks, once a week. Since she was under liquid diet, on the fourth week I requested her to take a small quantity of semi-solid food and come for treatment. Surprisingly she did not feel any discomfort. Gradually she switched over to solid food. There was total recovery.

Headache due to various causes Headache is a manifestation of several diseases. Underlying cause may be different but the symptom is a mere headache. Several cases which I have come across were Acidity (Gastritis) GERD, Sinusitis, chronic cold, hormonal imbalance, head injury, food habits, suppressed emotions, stress etc.

Headache due to sinusitis Patient (42 year old) had the symptoms of only headache for the previous three years.

Diagnosis Organs involved nose and sinuses. I applied the probe on the primary correspondence point of nose, submaxillary sinuses and frontal sinuses. Application of probe revealed painful points of all sinuses and nose indicating chronic cold (the cause of disease) leading to inflammation extending submaxillary sinuses and frontal sinuses. Frontal sinusitis was predominant symptom manifesting headache.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Application of Sujok needles on the primary correspondence points of nose and sinuses resulted in dramatic recovery from headache, which was only a symptom. Since rhinitis (nasal inflammation), the root cause was eliminated, recovery from headache was fast and dramatic. (Refer Picture 13)

Headache due to emotional disturbance A lady in her late 40s approached me with the symptom of headache. She was taking painkillers regularly and became dependent on painkillers for nearly three decades.

History She had been suffering from severe headache from the age of 15. I asked her what triggered headache at 15. According to her, when she had to appear for her public exam, her father collapsed. Because of her exam, she didn’t have the time to mourn her father’s death. This suppressed emotion started haunting her from this incident and emotional disturbance lead to psychosomatic disease, resulting in persisting headache.

Diagnosis Organs involved – Head and stomach. I applied probe on the tip of the thumb and sphincter and stomach correspondence points Painful points were identified – symptom – headache in thumb, painful point of sphincter and stomach – indicating suppressed emotion and acidity caused by taking painkillers continuously.

Treatment

Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on thumb, painful point, needles for sphincter and stomach.. Gradual improvement was seen after a week. Suppressed emotions, haunting memories were responsible for her headache. Added to that, taking painkillers created acidity and acid reflux aggravated the condition. (Refer Picture 14) Cleansed all chakras and energized all chakras for bringing harmony. Ajna – to relieve headache due to suppressed emotions, Manipura chakra – to release anxiety and relieve acidity Swadhishtana chakra – To relieve haunting memories. Reiki healing gave her tremendous relief. With 6 sessions, she slowly started relaxing and started withdrawing from her habit of taking painkillers. Diagnosis Sujok I applied probe on the primary correspondence point of stomach and head indicating gastritis, inflammation extending to middle ear.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle on the primary correspondence point of head, stomach and focal point of manipura chakra (midpoint of wrist) for deaddiction. Treatment continued for three days continuously and three more session in the next week. She got rid of her headache due to allergy to chocolates.

Through Reiki Craving for certain food products – in this case, craving for chocolates is related to Ajna Chakra and Manipura chakra. Her stomach was allergic to chocolate but the symptom was headache. After cleansing all major chakras, I energized all chakras. From the second day onwards, Ajna, Manipura chakras were energized. Result – Though the craving for chocolate continued, there was total recovery from headache.

Headache due to shock A middle aged man from Gujarat came to me with a complaint of persisting headache, day and night.

Case History He narrated what happened a year ago. He is a realtor. One year ago, He started constructing a multi storied building in Uttarakhand with advance amount taken from his clients. The project was completed. The patient decided to hand over the keys to the customers on an auspicious day. Then the calamity of Heavy floods swept away the entire construction. Diagnosis I applied the probe on the primary correspondence points representing head in the thumb, on the midpoint of wrist to relax the mind and also adrenal point to relieve shock and fear

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle on the primary correspondence (painful) point in the thumb below the base of the nail to relieve headache, to sedate coldness point in the kidney meridian to overcome shock and fear. To relieve tension, one needle was applied on the midpoint of wrist and to overcome fear, one needle was applied on adrenal point. (Refer Picture 15).

Through Reiki Due to shock, all major chakras were thrown off balance. To remove fear and negative energy, all chakras were cleansed and energized. To get rid of headache (symptom), Ajna chakra and Manipura chakras were energized. Mooladhara chakra was energized to relieve him of fear. In addition, I taught him meditation to relax the mind and body and to get rid of haunting fear. Slowly he accepted the fact and he started making plans for his bright future.

Also apply gentle pressure on midpoint of wrist to relax the mind and adrenal gland to relieve shock and fear.

Headache due to Anger A gentleman around 45 years, working in a IT firm came with a complaint of severe headache.

Case History He was not able to cope up with the workload which led to his frustration. The self-sympathy turned in to anger. He released his anger at home at his wife. This anger boomeranged on him. Whenever he was angry, he felt splitting headache. Still, he could not control his anger.

Diagnosis Organs – Head (symptom), Stomach (Root cause) I applied probe to find the painful correspondence point in the thumb (head, symptom of headache) and stomach point (the cause for anxiety, irritation) in the palm.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure To relieve headache, I applied Sujok needle on the correspondence point of head in the thumb. To prevent anxiety, anger and irritation in his mind, I applied one needle on the correspondence point of sphincter in the middle of the wrist to relieve anxiety and anger. (Refer Picture 16)

Through Reiki Anxiety, Frustration resulting in anger weakened the mind (Ajna Chakra) and anger weakened manipura chakra. I cleansed and energised all chakras. Special attention was given to Ajna (for headache) and to relieve frustration, Manipura chakra (to calm his mind and prevent getting angry)

Result Both Sujok and Reiki acting on the mind (emotion) and physical body and I advised him that his anger would only spoil his health. The patient realised his own fault. After five sessions, he became calm and started loving his family. There was tremendous change in his attitude. I taught him meditation to relieve stress.

Headache due to Gastritis A 24 year old patient came to me with severe headache only on the left side of his head for the past two years. All lab tests didn’t reveal any problem. I asked him about his lifestyle and daily routine. He was working in an IT company and his working hours extended from 4 pm to 3 am. After reaching home, he used to sleep until 11 am and prepare himself for next day duties. At once, I could recognise his problem. Due to his odd working hours, he was sleeping, when his stomach was at its peak. According to bio-rhythm, stomach synthesises gastric juice and pure hydrochloric acid from 7 to 9 am. Thus he was skipping breakfast (7 am to 9 am). This has resulted in acidity and inflammation had extended up to his middle ear (Gastro Oesophageal reflux disorder - GERD).

Diagnosis Organs involved – Middle ear, Pharynx, Oesophagus and stomach With the probe, I identified all the painful primary correspondence point – Middle ear- back of the thumb, close to base of the nail, pharynx (in the thumb between the two lines in the yin side). Oesophagus (insect correspondence –in the middle of the middle finger) stomach in the palm. It was a typical case of Gastro oesophageal reflux disorder (GERD). Chronic inflammation of stomach has extended in to oesophagus, pharynx and has reached the middle ear through Eustachian tube. But the symptom was only headache.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Applied Sujok needles in primary correspondence points of the middle ear. Pharynx, oesophagus , sphincter and stomach Sedated fire element in stomach meridian. (Refer Picture 17)

Through Reiki The organs involved stomach, oesophagus, pharynx, eustachian tube and

middle ear. All these organs are under the control of Manipura, Anahatha, Vishudha and Ajna Chakra respectively. After cleansing aura and chakras, healed Ajna, Vishudha, Anahatha and Manipura chakras.

Result He had dramatic recovery in two sessions. And more importantly, he was advised to take breakfast between 7 am to 9 am breaking his sleep for one hour. I gave him acupressure points for stomach, pharynx and middle ear for self-help.

Occipital Headache Sometimes, Headache is confined to the back of the head (Occipital region). It’s called an occipital headache. It can be due to head injury, tumour, high BP, cervical spondylitis extending to occipital region.

Case history A lady aged 52 approached me with a complaint of unbearable persisting headache in the back of her head. She underwent yoga therapy on the advice of a yoga therapist. At the age of 52 she was advised to do ‘sirasasanam’ which aggravated her symptoms. Region involved – Back of head (occipital region), Neck.

Diagnosis By using the probe, I identified the painful points in the correspondence points in the cervical region and occipital region on the yang side of the thumb.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle on the primary correspondence points of cervical and occipital region on the yang side of the thumb. Both neck (Cause) and head (symptom) were treated in three sessions, the patient had total relief. (Refer Picture 18)

Through Reiki Since she had neck pain initially, and due to wrong yoga therapy, she developed occipital headache. All her chakras were cleansed. Subsequently back-vishudha (for neck), back-Ajna (Occipital region) and Ajna (controlling all chakras) Chakras were healed. Both Reiki and Sujok act on the inherent healing energy, uninterrupted flow of healing energy was restored. Total recovery was felt by the patient. A girl who was working as an attender in my clinic had a head injury while she was sweeping the floor. Accidentally a heavy flower pot fell on her head. She was unable to bear the pain. Fortunately I was there when it happened. I

channelized Reiki divine energy on her head. Within five minutes, she recovered completely from the pain. The next day, when she came to the clinic, I asked her how she felt. She said she had completely recovered. Reiki, in my experience can be used even in an emergency, not as first aid but as treatment .

Piles Piles is a common problem seen both in men and women. Disease is usually thought to be confined to anus since the symptom is manifested as irritation, bleeding while defecating or a lump (haemorrhoid) projecting at anus. This gives an uncomfortable feeling to the patient. Most often it could be due to involvement of large intestine, like constipation, colitis or inflammation of rectum. But most often the patients go for surgery which will not give a permanent solution, since anus shows only symptom.

Case history A 32 year old man with piles said he felt pain and burning sensation and while defecating, occasionally blood along with faeces.

Diagnosis I applied probe in the web linking the middle and ring finger and identified the painful point related to the anus. Tested primary correspondence point of rectum to find out whether any part of large intestine was involved. Probing identified painful point in the lower part of left side of the palm (sigmoid flexure) and point of rectum. So the terminal part of colon and rectum terminating in the anus were found to be inflamed.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied needle on the painful primary correspondence points of the anus on the yang side of the palm and one needle for painful point of rectum and sigmoid flexure of colon on the yin side of the palm. In addition, I applied needle to sedate fire element in the large intestine meridian (antiinflammatory). (Refer Picture 19)

Through Reiki I cleansed and energised all chakras. Then I did healing for Ajna, Swadhishtana and Mooladhara chakras. The last two are for healing large intestine including anus and Ajna Chakra which controls all the chakras. Since inflammation of terminal part of large intestine was responsible for

piles, both Sujok and reiki energy were directed to remove the block for the flow of energy. Thus, piles, the symptom and colitis, the root cause was removed and the patient had a significant recovery.

Vertigo Vertigo is a condition where patient feels dizziness, loss of balance, giddiness, loss of equilibrium. Cause can be due to high BP, chronic cervical spondylitis extending to occipital region, low sugar, internal ear disease (Labyrinthitis), fear of heights(acrophobia).

Case history A 78 year old lady came to me with a complaint of dizziness, after exhausting all sources of diagnosis and medication.

Diagnosis I applied probe on the primary correspondence region of neck (Back of thumb), internal ear (back of thumb, below the base of nail) and adrenal point (in the middle of the palm). Identified painful points; 1.Internal ear involvement 2. In cervical region on the back of the thumb Region – Neck, Back of head and internal ear

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the back of the thumb below the base of the nail representing the internal ear (Labyrinthitis ), sedated coldness point in the kidney meridian (based on her age and ear involvement related to kidney meridian). Since she was 78 years old and it was a chronic disease, it is related to kidney meridian. Ear is related to kidney meridian. Based on these, kidney meridian was chosen. (Refer Picture 20)

Through Reiki Since this was a chronic case, I cleansed all the back chakras. Energised mooladhara chakra(weakness of body). All back chakras are controlled by mooladhara chakra, neck and internal ear are controlled by back-vishudha chakra and back-ajna chakra respectively. All back chakras were energised. A combination of reiki and Sujok acupuncture not only relaxed her but also made her feel healthy. Considering her age, I gave her acupressure points in her palm to avoid frequent visits. Even while she was leaving my clinic, she

did not feel dizziness. She could walk without any support.

Trigeminal Neuralgia Recently I have come across several cases of trigeminal neuralgia. Though, usually it is not supposed to be associated with teeth problem, most of the cases I dealt with were a consequence of tooth filling. Trigeminal nerve is a mixed cranial nerve reaching the face and teeth. In trigeminal neuralgia, the symptom was seen on one side of the face and mouth. Hyper sensitivity of the face is a common symptom. Patient feels pain getting aggravated while masticating the food. Even mere touch causes unbearable pain.

Case history

One patient with typical symptom of trigeminal neuralgia approached me. The symptom started after she had a tooth filling. Symptom was confined to the right side of her face. She could not crush the food on the right side. The pain extended up to the right eye. While she was travelling by auto, the breeze aggravated the pain. She could not even touch her own cheek. It was hyper sensitive. She felt numbness of upper and lower lip on the right side.

Diagnosis I applied the probe on the primary correspondence points in front of ear lobe on the course of trigeminal nerve i.e. cheek, eyelids, teeth, lips. I tested the base of the brain at the base of the nail, the origin of trigeminal nerves.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied needles on the back of the thumb , below the base of nail, - the origin of the trigeminal nerve; on primary correspondence point on the yin side- in front of the external ear on the course of nerve, on the right eye point to relive pain and hyper sensitivity and upper molar, upper lip and lower lipto relieve numbness. In addition, I sedated the coldness point in the spinal cord meridian. (Refer Picture 21)

Through Reiki Since the branches of the 5th cranial nerve were involved, both front and back ajna chakras were cleansed. To strengthen her spinal cord and brain, Mooladhara chakra was energised. I did seven sessions of combined Reiki and Sujok healing. Gradually, the symptoms of hyper sensitivity receded. After a week, there was total recovery. Since she was from Canada, I gave her acupressure points and Sujok ring as a preventive measure.

Menopause Menopause is a normal physiological condition in every female over 40 years. In menopause, women lose the capacity to reproduce. Ovulation comes to an abrupt end. Menstrual period ceases. But individual variations will be seen depending on the constitution of the body. For some, menstrual period ceases abruptly. In some cases, menorrhagia (excessive bleeding), irregular period, spotting, frequent periods may be seen. But nowadays, through media, people learn about menopause and get carried away by information gathered like mood swings, excessive sweating, likelihood of osteoporosis etc. So they feel menopause is a disease and out of fear, they seek help of doctors. In nature, when a girl reaches the age of puberty, ovary starts secreting major hormone oestrogen. Puberty is a normal physiological process. Until the stage of puberty, though ovary is present, it does not secrete oestrogen. At the age of puberty, pituitary gland synthesises- a hormone called follicle stimulating hormone. Once it is liberated, ovary starts synthesising oestrogen which is responsible for onset of menstrual cycles and ovulation. The girl under the influence of oestrogen attains the capacity to reproduce. At one particular stage in a woman’s life, oestrogen production recedes. This is the stage of menopause. At this stage of menopause, oestrogen level is low. This is nature. This low level of oestrogen is responsible for maintaining the bones strong, to prevent osteoporosis. But vulnerable groups of women, subjected to several tests and then advised to take vitamin D, calcium or if the person is over 40, are advised to go for hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) or hysterectomy. Uterus and ovary are nature’s creations. Any hormonal replacement therapy is likely to interfere with nature. It is likely to cause even ovarian or breast cancer. Many patients approach me at the stage of menopause with a various symptoms like mood swings, excessive bleeding, to avoid hysterectomy etc.

Diagnosis Production of oestrogen is under the control of pituitary gland and ovary synthesises oestrogen, the main hormone. I applied probe on the primary correspondence point of pituitary at the tip of the thumb, for the ovaries and uterus at the lower part on the yin side of the palm. I identified painful points.

Organs – Pituitary, Ovaries, Uterus

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied one needle for the primary correspondence point of pituitary gland on the tip of the thumb, two needles for two ovaries and one needle for the uterus in the lower part of the palm. In four sessions, symptoms receded. Treatment continued for three more sessions. For excessive bleeding, anxiety, mood swing, irregular bleeding, frequent menstrual period, white discharge(leucorrhoea) the same points are chosen for treatment. For excessive bleeding – sedation of fire element in small intestine meridian helps. (Refer Picture 22) Thumb – Pituitary gland Lower part of palm – Two parallel points – Ovaries; One below – Uterus

Through Reiki Reproductive organs are the under the control of Ajna chakra (pituitary gland), Swadhishtana chakra (entire reproductive systems) and Mooladhara chakra which also controls the reproductive system. Hence I cleansed all the chakras and energised all chakras. For hormonal balancing, special attention was given to Ajna, Swadhishtana and Mooladhara chakra. Another woman who came to me with incessant heavy bleeding, who was advised to undergo hysterectomy and blood transfusion was given the same treatment (a combination of Sujok and Reiki). She got total relief. Now her uterus is intact and it is more than ten years, she has no symptom of menorrhagia.

Gout Gout is a condition where urate crystals accumulate and appears as a swelling. When a high level of uric acid is in blood, symptoms of gout appear in the form of a painful swelling in the toes, especially big toe. One patient came to me with a complaint of painful swollen toe(First toe)

Diagnosis Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Primary correspondence point of big toe in the middle finger was painful

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle in the primary correspondence point in the distal part of middle finger. To purify blood and elimination of uric acid, in kidney meridian coldness point was tonified. (Refer Picture 23)

Through Reiki All chakras were cleansed and energised. Since the swelling was confined to big toe, Mooladhara chakra and local point (big toe) was energised.

Result In one session, swelling receded. To avoid recurrence, acupressure point was given for self-healing.

Acute Cases The usual question that arises in everyone’s mind is whether Reiki/Sujok are meant for chronic cases only. I have treated acute cases and also emergency cases. So in my opinion, an experienced healer can treat both acute and chronic cases.

1.Acute case- Fever Fever is a yang disease. Usually I don’t test the points. In Sujok, I apply gentle pressure at the tip of the thumb for head and another needle sedating fire point in small intestine meridian is applied. The object of sedating fire point is to control vasodilation in fever. Small intestine meridian is related to blood vessels. Heat energy is related to small intestine and fire point in the same meridian brings down fever. (Refer Picture 24)

Through Reiki Cleansing all chakras brings down the symptom of fever. Energising Ajna and Manipura chakra (spleen) improves body’s defence mechanism. Mooladhara chakra is associated with skin and also blood vessels. Hence, Ajna chakra, manipura chakra and Mooladhara chakra are to be energised. Combination of Reiki and Sujok makes the person recover from fever without any medicine.

2.Acute case – Sun stroke A 42 year old male came with sudden onset of headache for past 3 days. He had tried allopathy and homeopathy. History revealed that he has a passion for playing tennis. During the peak of summer he was playing tennis around 4 pm when the temperature was around 40 degrees. After reaching home, he was relaxing. But at night around 11 pm he started developing splitting headache and it lasted up to 2 am but it receded after 2 am. Sudden onset of headache baffled the doctors. It was named cluster headache but the medicines didn’t help him. He came to me at this stage.

Diagnosis Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure History revealed that his exposure to peak summer sun had resulted in headache. The pain started only after 11 pm and receded on its own after 2 to 3 hours. As per Bio-rhythm cycle, gall bladder’s function is at its peak from 11 pm – 1 am. So gall bladder meridian had to be addressed. Another point is, in male, energy circulates anti-clockwise; starting from wind-left leg, fire – left side of the body, humidity-head, right side of the body- dryness and the right leg -coldness. In this case, symptom was the headache (humidity). Onset of headache is at gall bladder time. It indicated that the patient was showing symptom of heat stroke, due to exposure to peak summer heat.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Based on the energy circulation principle, I applied one needle on the primary correspondence painful point of head (thumb) and another needle on the humidity point of gall bladder sedating the same (headache from 11 pm to 2 am; gall bladder time – yang disease) (Refer Picture 25)

Through Reiki I cleansed all chakras and energised Ajna chakra (Brain). I balanced all major chakras by energising.

Result There was dramatic improvement. I advised the patient not to play tennis in

peak summer heat and play early morning instead.

3. Acute case- Acute muscular pain A lady who was my regular client gave me a frantic call saying her husband was hospitalised with symptoms of food poisoning. She was in panic. Her usual complaint was occasional muscular pain in the calf muscles in the left leg only. Panic aggravated her calf muscle pain. Next day she came with a severe pain in the calf muscles in the left leg.

Diagnosis I applied the probe in coldness point in kidney meridian to test whether the aggravation of left leg muscular pain was due to extreme fear. Another reason for testing kidney meridian – the energy in female body circulates clockwise; Wind-right leg, Fire-right side of the body, Humidity-head and shoulders, Dryness-left side of body, coldness-left leg. Coldness is related to extreme fear. In this case her left leg, calf muscles showed acute pain, extreme fear aggravated the pain.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Based on the diagnosis, only one needle was applied in the kidney meridian sedating coldness point. (Refer Picture 26)

Through Reiki I energised all chakras, her left leg and mooladhara chakra. Mooladhara chakra is not only for muscular relaxation but also for relief from extreme fear, since it is related to adrenal gland.

Result Instant result was seen, because the treatment served dual purpose; 1. Her pain subsided and 2. Extreme fear in her mind vanished. She not only felt relief from her pain, application of needle made her feel relaxed. Her head became lighter.

4.Acute case – Chest pain A middle aged man came with severe chest pain and breathlessness. He was told by his cardiologist that he should undergo bypass surgery immediately to save his life. Since he did not want to undergo surgery, he approached me. When he came, he couldn’t even stand due to his breathlessness. Not to waste time, I avoided probing through Sujok therapy. I made him lie down on the couch and started cleansing and energising all chakras for nearly 30 minutes. At the end when he got up, he felt as if something was leaving through his legs. After the healing session, he was absolutely normal, felt relaxed and was talking comfortably. Next day when he came, he informed me that he was absolutely normal and healthy. He made it a point to meet once a month for healing. It was a miraculous result and at the same time, he avoided surgery

5. Acute pain- ankle sprain One middle aged lady reached my flat (during the floods) and she was hopping. While walking in her house, she slipped and her ankle got sprained. So she could not keep her right affected foot down because of pain.

Diagnosis

Sujok I applied probe on the primary correspondence point of ankle in the middle finger in right hand and identified the painful point.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure one needle was applied on the painful point in the distal joint of right middle finger (correspondence point of ankle joint). I advised her to apply gentle pressure on the same point after reaching home also. (Refer Picture 27)

Through Reiki Musculo-skeletal system, including the ankle joint is under the control of mooladhara chakra. Hence I energised the affected ankle joint and mooladhara chakra. The moment I energised ankle joint, she had instant relief. While leaving my clinic, she was able to walk with both feet grounded, without pain. She went home and continued applying pressure and she called me to say that she had total relief and was able to feel the relief in the ankle joint.

6. Acute cases -Food poisoning Food poisoning can be healed by Reiki in its early stages. A 52 year old patient approached me with a complaint of food poisoning – incessant nausea and vomiting. Previous day, he had dinner from a restaurant. Then he felt abdominal pain. Since it was an emergency case, I cleansed his abdominal aura, Manipura and Swadhishtana chakra. Sweeping movement covering the entire abdominal aura brought recovery within half an hour. Food poisoning has become a common problem these days. Immediate Reiki healing brings immediate relief.

Diabetes Is diabetes a disease? When a person is under stress, anxious, angry, sad or jealous, these negative emotions lead to malfunctioning of manipura chakra. Manipura chakra is related to endocrine part of pancreas i.e. islets of Langerhans. Islet consists of α, β and δ cells. Beta cells are responsible for insulin secretions. How stress can create diabetes When a person is under stress, body needs energy. To cope up with the demand for energy, malfunctioning beta cells send a signal to the liver, the organ for storing energy. Liver converts its stored energy, glycogen in to glucose. The released glucose, the source of energy reaches the blood stream immediately. This is the body’s defence mechanism to cope up with emergency. But in allopathy, this defence mechanism is considered to be a disease known as diabetes. In case of deficiency of insulin production, in Reiki, Ajna chakra is energised. Ajna chakra is related to pituitary gland which can stimulate insulin production. If we trace the origin of islet of Langerhans – it starts appearing in foetal stage itself. Pancreas, the exocrine gland appears as a bud from the initial part of duodenum. This bud branches giving rise to lobules. This is exocrine gland with a duct. From the lobules, a few cells isolate themselves and form islets of Langerhans. Islets of Langerhans are endocrine part of exocrine pancreas. The growth of pancreas depends on growth hormone from the thyroid (another endocrine gland). For the thyroid gland to develop, it depends on thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) from pituitary gland. Hence, when insulin synthesising cells do not develop/function, growth hormone (stem cells in thyroid) has to be stimulated. Again, to stimulate growth hormone, pituitary gland has to be stimulated. The growth hormone stimulates initial part of duodenum which in turn allows proliferation of lobules in pancreas and production of islet of Langerhans with beta cells. It is a complicated natural mechanism. By giving insulin, the disease is suppressed, but not eliminated.

Treatment Hormonal balancing of all chakras, special attention is given to Ajna ,

Vishudha and Manipura Chakras. So be free from stress, from diabetes.

Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure There is no specific meridian for pancreas but it is included in spleen meridian. So to stimulate β cells, humidity point in spleen meridian is tonified. Needles have to be applied: Thumb tip- Pituitary, Lower part of the thumb- thyroid, Correspondence painful point in pancreas for β cells. (Refer Picture 28)

Testimonial DIABETIC FOOT AND REIKI My brother, K V P Murali got a femoral artery block and his calf muscle in the right leg got affected by gangrene. He also had foot drop and his big toe slowly became black and hard. All the calf muscles were removed and only the bone was left. This happened during Dec 2004. Back Pain It is a common term involving lumbosacral bones/spinal cord/spinal nerves, muscles binding the vertebral column. To prevent direct contact between the bones, a soft cartilage is interposed between lumbar vertebrae. Spinal cord, which is located within the vertebral canal, gives rise to the spinal nerves at regular intervals. Spinal nerves arising in the lumbosacral region anastomose to form lumbosacral plexus. The major nerve that arises from the lumbosacral plexus is sciatic nerve. This nerve supplies the entire leg.

How do people get back pain? While lifting a heavy object, wrong posture, injury due to fall, disc is displaced. Disc may protrude in to the vertebral canal, causing inflammation of spinal cord. This results in unbearable pain in the back. Sometimes wrong exercise or injury, postural defect, spinal nerve as it emerges through intervertebral foramina may get crushed or there would be pressure on the spinal nerve as it emerges. This causes pain only on one side when the nerve is under pressure. This may lead to sciatica, arthritis etc. Occasionally, epidural anaesthesia may also cause back pain. Pain may be felt immediately after the operation or even one or two years later. Back pain may extend to leg, either one or both legs. Many patients approached me with symptoms of back pain to avoid surgery for disc prolapse or hip pain.

Case history One patient came to me with persistent pain, restricted to lumbar region. Region – Lumbosacral region

Diagnosis Applied probe on the primary correspondence points of lumbosacral region. Painful points in the correspondence points of the lumbar region were identified.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needle in the primary correspondence painful points between the third and fourth metacarpals continuously for three days. The treatment continued after a week. Meanwhile, I instructed the patient to apply acupressure on the

Through Reiki Since lumbosacral bones and spinal cord are under the control of backmanipura chakra and back-swadhishtana chakra, both chakras were energised. Mooladhara chakra has control over all back chakras and also skin, muscle, bones and spinal nerves. Mooladhara was also energised. Energising the three chakras resulted in relief from back pain, including disc prolapse. Combination of Reiki and Sujok results in fast and total recovery avoiding unnecessary tests and surgery. Since the energy reaches the root cause, recovery is total. In case of young children below 10 years, Reiki alone is sufficient.

Testimonial from patients Back pain Relief Ram, Chennai I was suffering from the stiffness on the back and also joints pain. This is because I got operated with the leg for Arthroscopy and while doing the operation they put anaesthesia on the spine which I supposed might be a cause for this joins pain. Because I never had any stiffness or joint pain before the operation. Treatment: i have developed with the severe stiffness on the back and also joint pain from Feb 2011 after the operation which held on Sep 2010. Menorrhagia It is a disorder where profuse menstrual bleeding happens. This may occur in young girls or during menopause. So age is not a criterion. A 45 year old lady came to me with a complaint of excessive bleeding after the regular menstrual period.

Diagnosis Probe was applied on the corresponding point of the pituitary gland and identified the painful point. I probed ovaries and uterus and identified painful points of ovaries and uterus. Hormonal imbalance was the root cause of disease. Based on her age, it was found to be a symptom of menopause.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Sujok needles were applied one for pituitary (in the thumb), two needles for two ovaries and a third for uterus. For ovaries and uterus, the needles were applied in the corresponding points in the lower part of the palm. One needle was applied to sedate fire point in the small intestine meridian- with the object of arresting excessive bleeding. (Refer Picture 30)

Through Reiki To correct hormonal imbalance, I cleansed all seven major chakras. I energised all chakras for restoring hormonal balancing. Special attention was paid to Ajna chakra, Swadhishtana chakra and Mooladhara chakras. Chakra balancing resulted in hormonal balancing. Excessive bleeding ceased after two sessions. To avoid recurrence, I gave her acupressure points and asked her to apply pressure on the given points (Primary correspondence points of the ovaries and uterus)

Blood Pressure Blood pressure (BP) in my opinion and experience is not a disease. Because, when the mind experiences fear or pressure, BP increases. Similarly if the person is under tension, it is called hyper tension (another name for BP). So calm your mind and relax, you can avoid BP.

Case history : A patient came to me with high BP and he was always under stress.

Diagnosis Applied probe on the tip of the thumb and identified two painful points. I applied probe on the points of the two adrenal glands in the palm.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Applied two needles on the painful correspondence points in the thumb to relax the mind. One needle was applied on the two correspondence points of adrenal gland to relieve BP. Sedated the kidney coldness point for relieving (hyper) tension. (Refer Picture 31)

Through Reiki Adrenal gland is responsible for excess corticosteroid and adrenaline secretion when mind is under stress or fear. Excess secretion results in palpitation. This leads to more blood to all parts of the body pumped by the heart. This is a defence mechanism when the body is in extreme fear. But it is considered a disease. Mooladhara chakra is related to adrenal gland. Malfunction of Mooladhara chakra results in adrenal gland malfunctioning leading to high BP. Between Mooladhara chakra and mother earth exists an unseen force which serves as the root. In extreme fear, then root becomes weak. Once the root becomes weak, the body becomes weak. Extreme fear can destroy the root resulting in high BP and even death. Hence when a patient shows the symptom of high BP, it is mandatory to strengthen mooladhara chakra, thus strengthening adrenal gland and kidney.

For patients with high BP Mooladhara chakra – strengthening the root and adrenal gland Back Manipura - Where Kidney and adrenal glands are located (local chakra) Back Anahatha - For correcting palpitation Ajna – which controls the activities of all chakras. Meditation can calm the mind.

Muscular Pain – Post operative complication An 80 year old man approached me with severe muscular pain. His history revealed that he had undergone knee replacement therapy on his right leg. After surgery, for a year, he didn’t have any problems. Then he started developing severe pain in the thigh and calf muscles. During the day time, he was perfectly normal. After 11 pm, he developed unbearable pain which continued through the night. Pain receded in the morning.

Diagnosis The time pain commenced indicated that it is related to gall bladder meridian. Since, it was chronic, it should be a Yin disease involving Liver meridian. Moreover, pain involved thigh muscles and calf muscles indicating liver meridian. I tested applying probe on liver coldness tonification point, which aggravated the pain in day time. So I decided to sedate coldness point.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure The pain was during the gall bladder meridian time (11 pm – 1 pm according to Bio-rhythm clock). But since it was chronic pain, I chose liver meridian. (Chronic symptom- Yin disease). I applied one needle sedating liver coldness meridian because 1. Chronic Yin meridian 2. Muscular pain – Liver meridian 3. Right leg – Anticlockwise energy flow / Right leg – Coldness Liver coldness sedation resulted in instant relief. Though the patient did not have any pain when he approached me during day time, he felt relaxation of muscles. The same night he was able to sleep comfortably without pain. For one week, the treatment continued. Patient had total recovery. (Refer Picture 32)

Through Reiki Since the chronic pain was in the leg after knee replacement therapy, on the first day all chakras were cleansed and energised. Leg is controlled by

mooladhara chakra, back-swadhishtana and back-manipura chakras. From 2nd day onwards, these three chakras were energised.

Conclusion After knee surgery, muscles responsible for movement of joints were affected due to aberration in nerve supply arising from lumbosacral plexus. Healing through Sujok therapy and Reiki, restored energy supply to the entire leg including knee joint.

Multiple Sclerosis Multiple sclerosis commonly called as MS is a chronic condition. Depending on the organ involved, symptoms vary from loss of vision, fatigue, difficulty in walking, incoordination etc. In multiple sclerosis (MS), immune system malfunctions destroying the myelin fibers protecting the nerve fibers in the brain and spinal cord. Occasionally oligodendrocytes also degenerate. A lady came to me with symptom of blurred vision, imbalance while walking and numbness in her feet. Every few steps, she used to stumble and hence was supported by her husband when she approached me.

Diagnosis Organs - Eyes, Brain, Lumbosacral region

Sujok For eyes, I applied probe on the correspondence points of eyes at the tip of thumb (brain). For incoordination, tested lumbosacral region on the yang side of palm between 3rd and 4th metacarpals representing lumbosacral region – identified the painful points. (Nerve arising from lumbosacral plexus i.e. sciatic nerve innervates the legs)

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied Sujok needles on the correspondence points of both eyes in thumb, needle for visual cortex, on the back of the thumb, below the base of the nail. I put one needle to sedate the coldness point in brain meridian. For incoordination, I applied Sujok needles on the painful points in lumbosacral region (between the 3rd and 4th metacarpals), one needle on sciatic nerve point to activate sciatic nerve – at the base of lateral aspect of knuckle of middle finger in both hands. (Refer Picture 33) Since the patient had exhausted all sources of therapy, she was ready to accept this treatment, on alternate days for 2 weeks. Meanwhile, she experienced gradual improvement in her vision. Similarly on the 4th session she could walk without support. Treatment continued for 2

months, at regular intervals (twice a week), I gave her acupressure points for self-help .Advised to apply gentle pressure continuously on the given points for ten minutes thrice a day

Through Reiki Vision is linked to Ajna chakra. All sensory organs including the eyes are under the chakra. Hence for blurred eyes, Ajna and Sahasrara were energised. For incoordination, imbalance – spinal nerves originating from lumbosacral region, supply abdominal muscles and a thick nerve (Sciatic) arising from lumbosacral plexus supplies the entire leg. Lumbosacral region is under the control of Back-Swadhishtana and BackManipura chakras. Musculoskeletal system is under the control of Mooladhara chakra. So healing mooladhara chakra, back-swadhishtana and back-manipura restored her normal walking. Since central nervous system and spinal cord are involved, all chakras were energised. Multiple sclerosis, when becomes chronic is considered to be incurable. But patients are given steroids. Sujok acupuncture and Reiki working on the inherent energy reach the root cause of the disease activating the degenerated structures resulting in total recovery.

Testimonial Tamil Selvi , Hyderabad I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2011. I had experienced imbalance while walking, numbness in my feet and urinary retention. Neurologist had given me steroid treatment. Later I realised that it’s dangerous to take steroid drug . After that I had stopped consulting neurologist. But this disease used to attack my every year especially in the winter. I had decided to try alternative therapies like ayurvedha, siddha and unani treatment nothing worked out me. Varicose vein Varicose vein is a common condition seen in both men and women. Of late, a number of persons approach me with varicose vein. In varicose vein, the flow of venous blood from periphery to the heart is blocked. Usually it is seen in the legs. Peripheral veins are provided with valves to facilitate venous blood to flow against gravitational force to the heart. When veins become weak, valves do not function, there is stasis of blood in the leg. This appears as a tortuous cord in the leg. Mostly it appears when a person stands for a long time or due to lack of exercise. A number of patients approach me with typical symptoms of varicose vein.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure Blood vessels are related to small intestine meridian, dryness of blood vessels(veins) is the cause. Hence to regain blood flow in the vein, I applied a needle tonifying fire element in small intestine meridian. At the same time, to sedate dryness point, one needle is applied. In the first session itself, patient felt lightness in the leg. Depending on the chronicity of the case, number of treatment sessions varies from eight to ten. (Refer Picture 34)

Through Reiki Blood vessels are related to Mooladhara chakra. First three days, all chakras are cleansed and energised. From third session, though healing energy is sent to all chakras, more to Mooladhara chakra and Anahatha chakras. Combination of Reiki and Sujok yields recovery, avoiding surgery.

Pimples Pimples appear on the face when sebaceous gland gets clogged &inflammatory, swelling or pus filled lesions appear. Pimples usually seen in adolescent age. It may be due to hormonal imbalance often. It occurs on face resulting in anxiety, tension which aggravate the condition. One young girl came to me with pimples on her face. Since she was a college student, she was embarrassed with pus filled vesicles on her face.

Diagnosis Since skin is related to large intestine /Lung meridian. I tested her large intestine meridian. Symptom was pus filled vesicles. I tested her humidity point in large intestine meridian at humidity point for sedation, she felt some reaction. In another case, the pimples appeared in the form of reddish inflammatory swelling. I tested the fire part in large intestine meridian. In addition, I probed the painful point in correspondence points of face in thumb.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure r the pustules, I sedated humidity point in large intestine meridian. I applied pressure on the correspondence point of face. In the second case, I sedated the fire point in large intestine meridian since the pimple was due to inflammation. For face, I applied seeds on the correspondence point of thumb. (Refer Picture 35)

Through Reiki I energised Ajna chakra, Manipura chakra and local part – Face. Combination of Sujok and Reiki yielded faster results. In six sittings, there was recovery.

Bed wetting A 13 year old female child was brought to me with a complaint of bed wetting. She wore diapers during night to avoid soiling the bed. Organs – Kidney, Bladder

Diagnosis The child had fear and also little embarrassed. Bladder was not able to retain urine due to fear. I applied probe to test kidney coldness point (for countering fear). Another needle to tonify coldness point in urinary bladder meridian.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure First two days, I applied Sujok needle to sedate coldness point in kidney meridian with the object of clearing fear out of her mind. On the third and fourth day, I tonified the coldness point in urinary bladder meridian. (Refer Picture 36)

Through Reiki I energized Ajna, Swadhishtana and Mooladhara chakras after cleansing all chakras. Bed wetting stopped in a week’s time.

Pancreatic Tumour A 24 year old boy approached me with acute unbearable pain in the upper part of the abdomen. He had already visited allopathy doctors and a doctor had identified pancreatic tumour and advised surgery. At this juncture, he approached me. Organ - Pancreas

Diagnosis I applied probe on the correspondence point of pancreas in the palm and identified the painful point.

Treatment Through Sujok Acupuncture/Acupressure I applied needles on the painful correspondence point of pancreas. Another needle was applied to sedate dryness point in spleen meridian. Treatment continued for a week. Patient felt relief from unbearable pain. I suggested acupressure points to press in palm in case of emergency. (Refer Picture 37)

THE EFFECTIVENESS OF DISTANCE HEALING IN REIKI – MY EXPERIENCES K.S. Saraswathi, Ashoknagar, Chennai EXPERIENCE 1 (1998) During this period, one day I could not get up from the bed. I felt as if all my nerves were broken. If I tried to get up, I fell at the bed itself. I really got scared. Since I do not believe in any other systems of medicine, I called Dr. Lalitha over phone. Balaji (48) treatment for IBS I had digestive issues from my early childhood and it got better for some time. My health issues started mostly when I was living in Singapore (2001 – 2009) where I got this problem full blown IBS. I met Dr.P.S.Lalitha in 2012 and have taken Reiki basic class with her after my treatment. She made a miraculous change in my health issues. Kidney stones Sudha Parthasarathy ,Delhi A few months back, I was in excruciating pain. An ultrasound confirmed kidney stones. The doctor prescribed pain killers which did not give relief.
