Preface
B efore we begin, please allow me this moment. I would like to
personally thank each and every one of the casinos of Las Vegas and Atlantic City for “allowing” me to live such an exciting and rewarding lifestyle. Even though you, the casinos, have at times made life a bit challenging for me, if it were not for you the Gregorian Strategy might never have come to be. The development of the Gregorian Strategy is in fact a direct result of need; a need essentially created by you, the casinos. You see, you—and I am addressing you the powers-that-be in the casinos—were not content to just let me “play” as a card counter. Now, you casino bosses know very few of those individuals who can in fact count cards and know how to do it well enough to actually beat the game in the long term. I would conservatively estimate that one out of a thousand counters is in fact a true professional, maybe even less than that. A typical guy like myself can never hurt your business in any possible way, but still you barred me, shuffled up on me, forced me to play with heat, and just took the fun out of the game for me at that time. Well now, in retrospect, I am glad that you did, but at the time I certainly was not happy. You see, none of you had the foresight to think that maybe, one day, you would force a person like me to “rewrite” the game—and believe me, the Gregorian Strategy has now pushed this game to another level. I believe that this can be construed as a “Frankenstein effect”: You created me. With the introduction of the Gregorian Strategy, literally anyone can now beat the game, and beat it badly. Truth be told, I 1x

cannot wait to see what the casinos are going to do about this truly new and revolutionary strategy for playing the game of casino blackjack. The way I see it, you, the casinos, have essentially two choices. The first is, you simply leave the game alone and see what happens. As you already know, many of those individuals who read this book, regrettably, will not devote the time necessary to learn the Gregorian Strategy well enough actually to beat the game. But some definitely will, and there is no doubt that as the Gregorian Strategy catches on, the game of blackjack will not be as profitable for you as it has been in the past. Your second choice is to change the rules of the game. If you do that, you may end up costing yourselves even more money by alienating much of the blackjack playing public, because more people will avoid the game due to restrictive rules. Why do many people play blackjack anyway? I will tell you. Generally, people have heard that the game of blackjack is in fact beatable, and this intrigues them. If the casinos do really change the rules of the game to such a degree as to make the game unbeatable, people will simply not play. People are not as unintelligent as you consider them to be. So—and I am now addressing the Nevada casinos specifically—are you now going to bar players for simply using the Gregorian Strategy? I am sure that you can expect more than just a few lawsuits if you do that; eventually you are going to come across a judge who will deem it unlawful to bar anyone for simply possessing a higher level of skill playing one of your so-called games of chance, and then you may put yourselves in an even worse situation. Are you going to dictate which particular strategy people can use to play the game? I don’t think so. It really is bad enough that, at the time of this writing, you are in fact allowed by law to bar anyone from playing any casino game if, again as you all claim, all of the games you offer are in actuality just games of chance. Now, we both know that this is not the case, don’t we? I will see you in the casinos, and I assure you, I will be

in with, —Greg
As you my readers can see, I have no love for those who run the casinos, and there are many reasons for this. Believe me, I did not develop my bad attitude overnight. It took years. As you read through this book, you will find out why in more detail. But perhaps you and myself should now attempt to gain a little love for the casinos, because now you can also make a living off them. Just follow the advice that you will find throughout this book to the letter and learn the Gregorian Strategy as outlined in this book. You will do just fine. Let’s begin!
