CHAPTER 2. KNOW YOUR CHILD HOW TO HELP YOUR CHILD GET THE MOST OUT OF SCHOOL A.

MOTIVATION:

Rewards to parents that come from careful

home-school guidance. 1.

You will have awell-adjusted child.

2.

Your child willdo better work in school. Your child will be healthier.

You will grow in parental skill and be happier.

5 . You and your friends will enjoy your child more.

You will have fewer problems in dealing with your child and his school.

DIRECTIONS:

How to create a wholesome environment at

home that will promote your child^ success at school. 1.

How to provide forthe emotional needs of your child, a.

Give him love and affection. (1)

Console him when he hurts himself.

(2)

Convince him that he is wanted.

(5 ) Talk with him about his toys, his play­ mates, and his work at school. (I4.) Be sympathetic toward his problems. (5)

Avoid constant scolding and nagging.

(6 ) Take time to play with, and make friends with him.

(7) Praise him for helping you about the home.

(8 ) Stop your work at times to help him fix his kite or some other plaything* (9)

Make many little sacrifices, as the one mentioned above to convince him that you love him*

Give him a feeling of security. (1 ) Establish parental harmony.

Avoid quar­

reling between father and mother.

(2 ) Don't constantly remind him of your financial burdens or risks.
